Born 1897, Lyon, France. Died 1984, Nice, France.
Maurice Tabard split his time between Paris and New York, and his artistic practice between professional commissions (VU, Jazz, Variétés, Harper’s Bazaar) and experimentations in the lab (with inversion, overprinting, solarization). Though close to the surrealist spirit, his photographic works are known for their compositional rigor and technical virtuosity. They would have a late reception.
