Audrey Tautou grew up in Montluçon and moved to Paris to study modern literature and take classes at the Cours Florent acting school. She made her screen debut in Tonie Marshall’s Venus Beauty Institute, winning the 2000 César award for best promising actress. The following year, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amélie made her a global sensation. Since then, she has worked with Stephen Frears (Dirty Pretty Things), Pierre Salvadori (Priceless, Beautiful Lies), Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel), Alain Resnais (Not on the Lips), Michel Gondry (Mood Indigo), and Claude Miller (Thérèse Desqueyroux). She has practiced photography for many years.
