Claude Ribouillault

Born 1951, Paris, France. Lives and works in Chantecorps, France.
Coming from a family of storytellers and wedding musicians in the Central-West region of France, Claude Ribouillault is a poet, musician, illustrator, ethnographer, and avid collector: the walls, drawers, and beams of his house in Chantecorps, in the Gâtine Poitevine region, are covered with folk musical instruments, masks, puppets, old photographs, and diverse documents touching on all the subjects that move him. He has devoted numerous exhibitions, performances, and works to traditional oral, written, musical, and iconographic heritage. He is the author of three books published by Éditions du Rouergue: La Musique au fusil, Musiques d’à bord and Nains, hercules & géants.
