Jean-Luc Parant was born a few thousand kilometres from where he was to settle with Titi, whom he met at the age of seventeen; from where he would make his first walls of wax eyes and write the first of those texts on eyes that are all tributes to his beloved.French writer Michel Butor was the first to buy his "walls of eyes" and "ball pictures". Since 1975 his work has been shown at the Fondation Maeght; in Paris at the Centre Pompidou, the Musée d’Art Moderne, the Galerie du jour/Agnès B., the Galerie de France and the Galerie Lara Vincy; at the museums of contemporary art in Lyon and Marseille; and in Antwerp, San Diego and elsewhere.
