Thomas WESKI

Born in 1953 in Hanover, Germany.
Thomas Weski has worked as a curator for such institutions as the Sprengel Museum in Hanover and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Since 2003, he has been the Chief Curator of the Haus der Kunst in Munich. He has curated some 100 exhibitions on photography including: Cruel and Tender (co-curated with Emma Dexter) at the Tate Modern, London and the Museum Ludwig, Cologne, 2003; Los Alamos by William Eggleston, Museum Ludwig, in 2003 - which travelled then to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebaek and to Albertina in Vienna, the Serralves Foundation in Porto, the Museum for Contemporary Art in Oslo, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Dallas Museum of Art; and Turning Back by Robert Adams, which received the Deutsche Börse Award, at the Haus der Kunst in Munich, in 2005. In preparation are a solo show by Andreas Gursky at the Haus der Kunst in Munich in 2007 and a William Eggleston retrospective, co-curated with Elisabeth Sussman, for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Haus der Kunst in Munich for 2008.
