Marcus TOMLINSON

Lives in London, United Kingdom.
Marcus Tomlinson works in three main fields: installations, film and photography. His photographs have notably been shown at Tate Modern and the Barbican Centre in London, Mudam – the Museum of Modern Art – in Luxemburg, MoMu – the Fashion Museum – in Antwerp and, with an exhibition titled "Beauty What For?", at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires. Marcus Tomlinson works for such English fashion magazines as The Face, Arena, Arena Homme Plus, Vogue and I-D, and also creates photographs and films for designers like Issey Miyake, Koji Tatsuno and Christian Lacroix. With designer Philippe Tracy he produced famous albums for the magazine Visionaire, and these led to work with Hussein Chalayan. The film commissioned from him by Issey Miyake for his A-POC collection was shown at the Vitra Design Museum in Berlin, and Tomlinson has just made another for the tenth anniversary of Eau d’Issey. In 2004, Tomlinson took part in Nuit Blanche in Paris, creating an installation for the Musée Galliera, the City of Paris Fashion Museum. New exhibitions are planned for 2008 at MoMu, Mudam and the Design Museum in London. In France Marcus Tomlinson is represented by Galerie Patricia Dorfmann, Paris.
