Tim WALKER

Born in 1970 in England. Lives in London.
His interest in photography developed during a year’s work experience before college at Conde Nast London where he set up the Cecil Beaton archive. Tim went on to study photography at Exeter Art College. On graduation he worked as a freelance photographic assistant before becoming a full time assistant of Richard Avedon in New York City.
Tim’s career as a photographer was launched when he was placed 3rd in The Independent Young Photographer of the Year Awards. Initially he concentrated on documentary and portrait work for United Kingdom newspapers, which opened the door to further editorial work with British Vogue, W and Harper’s Bazaar. He currently shoots for Italian and British Vogue and Vanity Fair.
He currently resides in London but spends a lot of time travelling for work. Extraordinary environments and people are the things that he finds the most inspiring.
In 2008, Tim Walker published Pictures (teNeues), with texts by Robin Muir.
