Don McNeill Healy, a 29-year-old Irish photographer based in Dublin, focuses mainly on social issues and long-term projects, allowing him to develop a close and intimate relationship with his subjects. He spent over a year and a half documenting the life of a traveller family in Dublin (96 Pigeon House Road) and, since early 2008, he has been working on a project about a homeless Polish man living in the Irish capital. Don has participated in a World Press Photo/ASEF Workshop in Vietnam, had his work shown at the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism in Hannover. In 2008 he received a Visual Arts Grant from the Irish Arts Council and in March 2009, Don was invited to join VII Photo’s Mentor Program.
