Olga SVIBLOVA

Since 1996 when Olga Sviblova founded the Multimedia Art Museum (formerly known as the Moscow House of Photography), she has overseen the acquisition of more than 80,000 photographs of Russian life. In 2001, Sviblova spearheaded the museum’s expansion beyond photography to preserve all forms of multimedia art technology.

Sviblova has curated many international exhibitions and festivals since 1988, such as the Russian Pavilions at the 2007 and 2009 Venice Biennales.

During her career, Sviblova has written and directed a number of awarded documentaries. In 2006, she was named “Best Curator of Contemporary Art” (“Innovation” Contest, Moscow). Sviblova earned her Ph.D. in psychology of art at Moscow State University.


Olga Sviblova was a nominator for the Discovery Award of the Rencontres d’Arles in 2013. She nominated the following artists: Nikolai Bakharev and Alexandre Slussarev.
