GREEN (PAPER) BOOK

Green (Paper) Book focuses on the strip of land in Beijing, but more so to people who are employed to maintain this location. In 2011, I spent 2 months in Beijing. This is where, I came across few meters wide land Beijing highway; linking the city center with airport and non–city land. Project portraits this not obviously agricultural or fertile location and people employed to maintain it. The location represents the travel towards the city, where the dreams supposed to become truth. It touches on labour and land related issues in both real as well as metaphoric context, introduced to project by Henri Rousseau’s images of imagined landscapes. Green (Paper) Book also touches on ways of art production and idea of original, which are often present in my practice.
