The Japanese photographer and filmmaker passed away on September 16th in Tokyo. 
He was a frequent contributor to the Rencontres d'Arles programming, participating numerous times as an exhibited photographer, workshop leader, and speaker at evening events and conferences. 
The festival pays tribute to him.
