Kering and the Rencontres d’Arles honor Liz Johnson Artur with the third Women In Motion award for photography. Liz Johnson Artur produced a collection of photos on the world’s African diaspora. Her dynamic documentary photographs, in black & white and color, paint a complex picture of black identities.
Rather than working with “subjects”, she photographs human beings and uses her work to tell stories. “What interests me are the people, the people I don’t see represented anywhere else,” states the artist.
