Temple Arles Books 2019
Temple and the Rencontres d'Arles present Temple Arles Books.
During opening week of the festival's 50th edition from 3 to 6 July 2019, Temple Arles Books will offer a venue where publishers, artists, institutions, freelancers, enthusiasts and visitors can interact with each other.
A transversal program focusing on editorial practices will feature several events-a book fair, conferences, performances and interactive workshops-reflecting the diversity of contemporary creation.
In 2013, freelance curators and designers Anna Planas and Pierre Hourquet founded Temple as an experimental venue to introduce a new generation of artists until 2017. Today it is an independent dissemination platform.
Temple collaborates with many institutions and international artists on exhibitions and publications in the area of photography and the image.
For the next three years, Temple Arles Books is taking over from Cosmos Arles Books, which had been headed by Olivier Cablat and Sebastian Hau since 2015. The Rencontres d'Arles warmly salutes their remarkable work.
