The Rencontres d’Arles are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Jean-Paul Capitani’s sudden death today, Tuesday, April 4.
Jean-Paul was a leading figure in Arles and a longtime friend of the festival.

Jean-Claude Lemagny, historian and former curator of contemporary photography at the Bibliothèque nationale de Paris, born in 1931, had just blown out his 92 candles on December 24. We have learned of his death.

He was a talented portrait photographer. Olivier was a faithful friend of the Rencontres d'Arles for over 10 years.

The american street and fashion photographer William Klein passed away.

The photographer, painter, poet and film director, Ouka Leele passed away on May 24th, 2022. The Rencontres d'Arles pays tribute to her.
