Since 2008, journalist Dimitri Beck has been the director of photography at Polka (the magazine, gallery and factory), of which he was a founding member with the Genestar family. He regularly speaks at conferences on visual narration and teaches at the Sciences Po journalism department in Paris and the Spéos photography school. Dimitri hosted a photography radio show on France Info every week for several years. Today he is on TSF Jazz. From 2004 to late 2006, he was head of the Aina Photo agency in Kabul.
Dimitri participates in training and promoting a generation of afghan photographers. He is also editor-in-chief of the bilingual French-English magazine Les Nouvelles de Kaboul/New Afghanistan. Previously, he was editor-in-chief of Webistan, Reza's Paris-based photo agency. Dimitri began his career as a freelance journalist in 1998 and has often worked in Central Asia and the Caucasus. He was born in Paris in 1972.
