Countering falsely simplistic media constructions, he reintroduces complexity in the representation of the margins of hypervisibility. He has had many solo shows, including at the Paris Museum of Modern Art, Pompidou Centre (Paris), Barnes Foundation (Philadelphia), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), basis (Frankfurt-am-Main), Bal (Paris), Haus der Kunst (Munich) and FRAC Franche-Comté (Besançon). He has participated in the Sharjah, Havana, Lyon, Venice, Algiers, Liverpool and Berlin Biennials and the Milan Triennial.
