Thu-Van Tran’s work is influenced by literature, architecture and history. The country where he was born—Vietnam, a former French colony—and his adopted homeland—France—lead him to think and work with duality, inequality and imbalance structuring his practice. His work takes the form of semantic or sculptural compositions that could be either contemplative or discursive. In 2017, it was shown at the Venice Biennial in the Viva Arte Viva exhibition curated by Christine Macel.
