Mehdi Meddaci
Born in 1980 in Montpellier. Lives and works in Paris.
ENSP 2006 Meddaci has received degrees from Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains in 2008 and from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, both one-man and collective, and has been resident photographer at CentQuatre Paris, in Damascus, Alexandria, Beirut and Toulouse. From very early in his career he has focused his work on the foundations underlying a possible memory of migrations, exodus, and on the impact these might have on the deep consciousness of human cycles. He has tried to establish the idea of an ‘obsessive exile’ of populations, in particular among Mediterranean peoples.
