Andres Serrano studied painting and sculpture at the Brooklyn Museum Art School from 1967 to 1969. He is a world-renowned artist whose work has been exhibited at major international institutions. His famous Piss Christ, a photograph of a crucifix plunged into the artist’s urine, is one of his most controversial and misunderstood works. His photographs are in many public collections, including MoMA in New York, the Lambert Collection in Avignon, Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Institute of Contemporary Art in Amsterdam, Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
