Trained at the École des arts décoratifs de Paris, Alfred Latour was a painter, engraver, graphic artist, photographer and member of the Union des artistes modernes (UAM) founded by Robert Mallet-Stevens. In the mid-1930s, he did photographic reportages for the Meurisse agency in Paris. After retiring in Eygalières, Latour tirelessly painted Alpilles landscapes in a figurative-abstract style.
