A graduate of the École nationale supérieure de la photographie, Géraldine Lay works at Editions Actes Sud. She is represented by the Galerie Le Réverbère in Lyon. She divides her work between northern Europe (Failles ordinaires, North End) and various residencies in France (Impromptus, Où commence la scène). In 2016, she started a project in Japan. She has participated in the Hors les murs program of the Institut Français.
