Libération published Yan Morvan’s first photograph in 1974. In July 1975 he undertook a veritable sociological study of rockers, Le Cuir et la baston, which was published in 1976. In 1980, he joined the Sipa agency. A freelancer since 1988, he is considered one of the world’s greatest war photographers. He has received the Robert Capa Prize and two World Press Photo Awards. In 2004, he launched the Champs de bataille project, which was featured at the Rencontre d’Arles. He is the author of many publications, including Bobby Sands; Liban, chroniques de guerre 1982-1985 and Années de fer.
