Marion Gronier
Born in 1976 in Paris. Lives and works in Paris.
After studying literature, Marion Gronier chose photography and devoted herself to personal projects focusing on the human figure. From her journeys through Asia, she brought back portraits of greasepainted faces of actors in travelling theatre troupes. This work, titled Herbes flottantes (Floating Grasses), was exhibited at the Théâtre de Nîmes, the Hudson Edition Gallery (Paris), the Chroniques Nomades festival (Honfleur) and the International Image Biennial in Luang Prabang (Laos). In 2010, she created I Am Your Fantasy, diptych portraits of young beauty pageant contestants and their mothers. This work was exhibited at the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, Maison de la Photographie in Lille, Claude Samuel Gallery (Paris) and the Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image in Nice. It was also published in a book of the same name.
