John Stezaker
Born in 1949 in the United Kingdom. Lives and works in London.
Stezaker’s work re-examines the various relationships to the photographic image: as documentation of truth, purveyor of memory, and symbol of modern culture. He has shown extensively both in the UK and internationally. Recent solo shows include the Tel- Aviv Museum of Art; The Approach, London; Galerie Gisela Captain, Cologne; The Whitechapel Gallery, London; Friedrich Petzel Gallery, New York; University of The Arts, Philadelphia; Kunstverein Freiburg; The Rubell Family Collection, Miami; White Columns, New York. In 2012 he was awarded the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize.
