Will Steacy

Will Steacy is an American photographer and writer. He comes from five generations of newspaper men and worked as a union labourer before becoming a photographer. Steacy was named ‘25 Under 25: Up-and- Coming American Photographers’ by the Center for Documentary Studies and one of PDN’s ‘30 Emerging Photographers’. His critically acclaimed books Photographs Not Taken and Down These Mean Streets were published in 2012. He is a recipient of The Aperture Foundation Green Cart Commission and Tierney Fellowship. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, Esquire, Harper’s, Mother Jones, The Paris Review, Aperture, Forbes, Colors, Time, Wired, The Guardian, Foam, Newsweek, HBO, CNN and he has been a guest on NPR, BBC and PBS.
