Right from their first encounter, Mazaccio and Drowilal felt a kinship. Both influenced by conceptual art, cinema, and American and Japanese photography, they joined forces and envisaged an approach to photography as a duo, both in the taking of photographs and in the selection of their images. Their photographs strive not only to depict a place or specific subjects, but are also a method of writing which allows them to blur the boundaries between reality and its representation. Their respective use of collage and photomontage, as well as digital cultures, have greatly influenced their approach to the photographic medium.
