Writers Laurent & Patrick (LP) created the LP Company in 2013 as an entity developing a body of text, performance, photography, film, and discographic material under the banner of their project The LP Collection: Hidden Treasures of Underground Music. The starting point: their collection of 6,000 records of fascinating music unknown to critics or the public. Their constantly developing work of documentation and distribution has led to the publication of the book The LP Collection, many performances (Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Lieu Unique, Nantes; Montreux Jazz Festival, etc.), as well as the production of records and CDs available on their music site. The LP Collection project was awarded the Ciampi L’Altrarte Prize at the Serate illuminate in Livorno, Italy, 2014.
