Woutter Deruytter was born 1967, Belgium. Lives and works in New York, United States
His work has been exhibited worldwide and is part of renowned collections such as those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the National Portrait Gallery (Washington, D.C.) and the personal collection of Sir Elton John. In 2013 he received a grand, city-spanning exhibition of his entire oeuvre: 14 different bodies of work in as many different locations in his birthplace, Roeselare. He is represented by TORCH gallery (Amsterdam), and has collaborated with several galleries in Europe, Mexico, China, and the United States. His series Cowboy Code (2000) established him definitively in the art world.
