The French director Roget Livet was in the surrealist circuit. His short films, as in Fleurs meurtries (with René Magritte, 1929), play an important role in the history of surrealist cinema. Using Fleurs meurtries, he created an album of photography entitled Avant la guerre (1934), then another film, Une regrettable affaire. He also worked with the writer Yves Bonnefoy on the film Royaume de ce monde.
