Born 1958, Courbevoie, France. Lives and works in Paris, France.
Evelyne Coutas started practicing photography in 1976, after graduating from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, specialized in sculpture. She started experimenting with the plastic quality of the photographic medium, using the photogram, in particular, and managed to retain a connection to the concrete. In her most recent exhibition, Les femmes s’en mêlent: facts and fantasies, she renders the restless atmosphere of rock concerts in plays of light, blur, and framing effects.
