He began by studying graphic arts, took theater courses, worked as a film set decorator, then explored directing short films. Through this sampling of different visual art practices, he arrived at photography, beginning as assistant to a portrait photographer in Paris. In 2004 he produced his first commissioned pieces for periodicals and publishers. He developed his own body of work—regularly exhibited—and led workshops for the Rencontres d’Arles. His practice of several visual arts has enriched his vision with multiple references, enabling a unique form of aesthetic experience for each subject.
