Pierre Zucca was a French photographer and filmmaker. Between 1963 and 1974, he was a set photographer. Zucca worked with Franju, Freda, Rivette, Truffaut, Makavejev and Ruy Guerra on approximately 50 films, from underground historical melodramas to the New Wave. He published La monnaie vivante with Pierre Klossowski (1970) and Le yoga par l’image with Liliane Siegel (1973). His Images du cinéma (1980) was the first monograph entirely devoted to set photography as a genre in its own right. He directed the films Vincent mis l’âne dans un pré (1975), Roberte (1979), Rouge-gorge (1985), Alouette, je te plumerai (1988) and many documentaries for television.
