Thomas Florschuetz has received several awards for his work: in1987, the Prize for young european photography; in 1994, Dorothea-von-Stetten Kunstpreis and in 2004 The German Critics Award for Visual Art.
Since the mid eighties, his work has been shown widely from national and international institutions: Museum Folkwang, Essen ; Rencontres d’Arles 1987 ; Berlinische Galerie, Berlin ; Museum of Modern Art, New York ; Sezon Museum, Tokyo ; Tate Gallery Liverpool ; Müscarnok, Budapest ; Neue Nationalgalerie und Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin ; Akademie der Künste, Berlin ; Baltic Center for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (GB), Pinacoteca, São Paulo and the Los Angeles County Museum.
