Daisuke Yokota
Born 1983, Saitama, Japan. Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
Yokota performed in 2015 at Shashin: Photography from Japan, New York, as well as at In the Wake: Japanese Photographers Respond to 3/11, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The same year, he took part in the group exhibition Another Language: 8 Japanese Photographers curated by Simon Baker at the Rencontres d’Arles. Yokota has received numerous awards including the Excellence Award at Canon New Cosmos of Photography (2008), the Epson Color Imaging Contest Award (2008), and the Grand Prize at 1_WALL Exhibition (2010). As the winner of the Outset I Unseen Exhibition Fund (2013), he presented a solo exhibition at Foam Museum, Amsterdam (2014). In 2015 he won the first John Kobal Residency Award at Photo London. Yokota is the author of numerous books: Back Yard (2011), Site/Cloud (2013), Vertigo (2014), and Taratine (2015).
