Frank Berger studied in Leipzig and graduated in Photography in 1999. The following two years he continued his studies under Timm Rautert, attaining the title Meisterschüler in 2001. Since then he has worked independently. In 2005, together with other Leipzig artists, he founded the gallery Amerika in Berlin. Slide projection, which he first began exploring in school, is his preferred medium. His presentations have a sequential structure, referencing the reproductive quality and the documentary claims of the photographic medium.
