Françoise Huguier goes on long and intimate journeys that yield books with unsettling bodies and souls.
They take us to Africa, Cambodia, and behind the scenes in the fashion world. Several times a participant in the Rencontres d’Arles, and a major contributor to Libération and Actuel in their heyday, this year she presents for the first time an evening’s retrospective of her work, co-staged with Christian Caujolle to a sound montage by Patrick Leygonie. Although Françoise Huguier has covered Christian Lacroix’s collections from the beginning, the couturier primarily included her in his programme
for her singular personal projects.

Partner Awards
Oskar-Barnack-Leica Award
Since 1979, the Leica Camera group has given an award in honour of the centenary of the birth of Oskar Barnack (1879-1936), inventor of the Leica and father of current photo-journalism. The award, bestowed on the work of a press photographer or photo-journalist, comes with a cash prize or Leica equipment of equal value.
In keeping with tradition, the award will be presented in Arles.
Leica European Publisher Award
Seven European publishers team up to publish a book of work by the winner, who receives their award during Opening Week. It is given by Actes Sud (France), Dewi Lewis Publishing (UK), Lunwerg Editores (Spain), Peliti Associati (Italy), Umschau Braus (Germany), Apeiron (Greece), and Mets&Schilt (Netherlands).
