IS MAGNUM STILL NEWS?
Roundtable. This year the photographers of the legendary cooperative are holding their annual general meeting in Arles for the first time. It is an opportunity to question them about the relevance of an agency when the press market has collapsed: does the founding French-American alliance still make sense today?
In other words, is there a French school within Magnum Photos? It will also be an opportunity to present the decisions made during the AGM and to be introduced to the new photographers to have been accepted into the group. With Giorgio Psacharopulo, CEO Magnum Photos, Lorenza Bravetta, Head of Continental Europe, Abbas, vice-president of the Magnum Photos Foundation, France, Susan Meiselas, vice-president of the Magnum Photos Foundation, USA, and the vice-presidents of the regional offices elected during Magnum Photos’ annual general meeting. And Agnès Defaux, General Counsel of the Saif.
With the support of the Saif.

IT’S SAID THAT THE YOUNG WOMEN OF SYRACUSE
Christian Milovanoff, photographer and tutor at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles since its inception, has played a major role in all the classes that have graduated during the school’s 30 years. Every evening at the Théâtre Antique, he will give a performance about different photographic genres – the portrait, classification, memory, words; four stories that so preoccupy photographers.
OSKAR-BARNACK-LEICA PRIZE
The presentation of a prize given to a photographer whose work encapsulates humanity’s relationship with its environment. The Leica Newcomer Award, which goes to a young photographer, will also be presented.
