For the third year in a row BMW demonstrates its commitment to photography through the company's partnership with Rencontres d'Arles. In this context, BMW takes pleasure in exhibiting the images of Alexandra Catiere, the 2011 winner of the BMW residency at the Nicéphore Niépce museum. Alexandra Catiere is a young artist from Belarus who was chosen for her images mixing classical with avant-garde techniques. She used her time at the residency to look into the lives of select women, men and children, mixing serious thought on the subjects of time and space with a blend of innovative and time-tested technologies. The images on display are the result of the work she did with the museum's help. The final selection of images as well as set design were undertaken by the artist with the collaboration of François Cheval, the museum's chief curator, under the artistic direction of François Hébel. Other features of the exhibition will include a video shot during the residency by François Goizé as well as a book published by Trocadéro Editions.
