The Screening Box

The curriculum at the École nationale supérieure de la photographie (ENSP) offers an exceptional programme of student exchanges and residencies throughout the world, including the US, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Lebanon, China... As a result, the ENSP maintains a privileged relationship with a number of art schools, such as ICP in New York; and with the visual arts departments of art and design universities such as Aalto University in Helsinki. These partnerships adopt various models, among them supporting student and faculty exchange initiatives, as well as organizing collaborative exhibitions, and publishing catalogues.

In tandem with the Discovery Award we wished to invite several foreign partners to present a selection of works by their younger graduates. This interactive exhibition will be presented in the form of an installation featuring several screens, upon which spectators will be able to choose an institution from amongst the following partners: the École Supérieure des Arts de l’Image 'Le 75' in Brussels, the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weiensee – College of Art and Design in Berlin, the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology [IADT] in Dublin, the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (SIVA) in China, the Centro de la Imagen in Lima (Peru), the Escuela Argentina de Fotografia (EAF) in Buenos Aires, the Centro Universitario SENAC in São Paulo (Brazil), the Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City (Mexico), the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, the USEK - Kaslik in Lebanon and the École de Théâtre et de Cinéma of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, the International Center of Photography in New York City, the Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg (South Africa), the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Aalto University in Helsinki (Finland) and the Royal College of Art in London. In this way the installation will present to viewers an international panorama of creative works by today's youth.
